Hello everyone,
So Halloween is coming soon and it's time for some fun events. We have planned some things and you can win *SHINIES*
We start events at 19:00 UK / 20:00 EU and gather about half an hour before that in the guild hall.
So what is happening? Well I am not going to spoil everything, but these two you might want to prepare for.
Scary story contest
- Scary story max 400 words
- Bonus points if it involves PSDH commanders
- Submit story to Ardi or Nova before the day of the event
Costume contest
- Halloween Fashion wars!
Besides this, we will do some more fun Halloween related activities where of course you have a chance at more *SHINIES*
We will end this night of mayhem and madness by running the Halloween Labyrinth naked.

Good news for next weeks Labyrinth farming
Hi all,
You’ve probably noticed that the champions in the labyrinth haven’t felt as challenging this year as they did in previous years. The only actual change to them was a bug fix to the lich to keep him from summoning unlimited minions at high event scaling. But they all felt easier because they hadn’t kept up with the power growth of the player base. We gave them all quick buffs today.
Additionally, with this map being as profitable as it is, a lot of players have started triggering diminishing rewards. That’s just not cool. So we disabled diminishing rewards on this map.

In case you missed the murder mystery or just want to know what our character information was. Here is it, the first PSDH murder mystery. Let us know what you think about or how we can make it better.
Murder Mystery
Scenario
At the end of the costume contest Dark goes to the guild bank to get prizes. Suddenly, we hear a loud scream and Dark will fall of the cliff above the costume contest and dies. Guildies need to find 4 clues; the Murderer, the Murder Weapon, Execution of the Murder and the Motive.

Shiroiki Mei
- Found a weird naked doll with Cat Ears and Butterfly Wings.
- Has been up all night baking his cake for the competition. Got interrupted by Dark showing up and acting strange, rambling about trying to clear his mind. Offered him a talk when suddenly heard weird noises outside, told Dark to wait and he went to check on his moa chicks because he was scared of predators. Went outside but his chickens were fine. Came back to find his cake destroyed and Dark missing. Had to re bake the cake.
- Complains about the Guild Hall being a mess with all the sand. It's getting worse and he feels he's the only one cleaning it.
- Shiroiki missed the contest because he was finishing his cake. Does not know Dark has died. Still busy with the last bits of his cake.
- If people ask more questions (/sad /cry) worrying about Dark and the cake.
Nova Lelie
- The voodoo doll found is Nova's, she was wanting to use it to look good on Halloween, but it has been missing.
- Why is dead Dark covered in cake? (say this just after he fell to his death then /cry)
- Had a talk with Gem and Red and learned that Dark has also been acting strange towards Red. Dark asked Red to become SW comm for thursdays evenings CF instead of rotation. Because everyone knows Red likes loot. Red found this weird cause he always mocks the SW chestfarm. Besides he raids wvw on that day.
- Is in a bad mood because she had a fight with Dark and Gem the night before about the PSDH schedule. And now this interruption on the festivities, she had been planning this with Ardi for weeks.
- If people ask more questions start stressing, crying (/cry /sad) and repeating.
Elnora Sunbane
- Has stolen a voodoo doll from Nova to pull a prank but fell asleep. When he woke up he noticed that the doll was gone.
- His room was very dirty when he woke up. (if he really gets pressed about this, he can say he can't really tell exactly, but he was sure he swiped the floor).
- Was meant to help Gem with her cake but send a raven to say he was sick.
- Simon gets a stomach ache when he sees Dark (he's been having the flu, caught it from Nova) so he runs away as soon as he notices that Dark has died and returns a few minutes later looking shifty and upset.
- If people ask more questions do not answer, instead get slightly hostile (/threathen /facepalm /crossarms) and repeat.
Marithia Redwood
- Gem is at a waterfall. She’s washing off cake. Claims to have been cooking till late, Simon was supposed to help but never showed, got no raven message.
- Had a fight with Dark and Nova because Dark wanted to change the schedule.
- Had a talk with Red and Nova and learned that Dark has also been acting strange towards Red. Dark asked Red to become SW comm for thursdays evenings CF instead of rotation. Because everyone knows Red likes loot. Red found this weird cause he always mocks the SW chestfarm. Besides he raids wvw on that day.
- Gem saw Ardi running into some garbage cans making noise, didn’t think much of it, he does more weird stuff. Talked to Ardi for a while about the JP in Gendarran Fields. Then both went their ways. Gem went to bake cake. This is a lie.
- Gem has seen Ardi when she was lurking around Shiroiki’s house. They said hi, but then both went their ways. Then Gem heard the noise and heard Shiroiki go outside. Is secretly jealous of Shiroiki and took her chance to destroy his cake before she went home and bake her cake for the competition.
- If people ask more questions start (mildly) swearing, crying (/cry) and i told you all I know.
- If confronted with the inconsistency in the story be vague, if confronted again. Admit you didn’t talk to Ardi you just said hi and destroyed Shiroiki’s cake.
Cadavez
- Is very adamant about that the leaders and commanders should be a bit stricter. They are just being strange. Nova, Gem and Red seem stressed. Also it looks like they are hiding something, Dark throws himself of a cliff. Then just the others having some strange behaviours.
- Has seen Shiroiki talking to a weird doll earlier. Simon has been disappearing constantly and Ardi has been practising his JP skills in the weirdest places. Also, it's messy everywhere.
- When asked more: First the people who rent a house make everything dirty and now there is a ton of sand in the Guild Hall. When asked about people renting a house Cada explains that Ardi rents a house in the Silverwastes and that he has been turning it into a mess.
- When people ask too many questions Cada gets angry and tells people that it’s better to find out why Dark would jump off a cliff… uh fell off a cliff. The Dark he knows would never do that. (/sad)
Rediarel
Will not be at the murder scene. If people come to him for questions he will say he wasn’t there, but he told Gem and Nova all. He is sad but busy.
Knows Nova, Gem and Dark had a fight on wednesday. Has a talk with Nova and Gem on thursday.
Ardi Veftvohl
- Has seen Simon with a weird doll.
- Was practicing JP skills made accidental noise, ran into Gem talked about JP in Ember Bay. This is a lie.
- Made a loud distraction by killing a convenient close by raven (with message from Simon). Went to snatch Dark from Shiroiki. Ran into Gem beforehand, said hi.
- If people ask more questions start incriminating Simon and Gem. Then ask if they want to come for CF on saturday. Then go /sad.
- If confronted with inconsistency in his chat with Gem say you don’t remember well since focus was on JP and try to change subject. Then go /sad.
- Turned Dark into a Zombie and tries to use Dark to get Gem, Red and Nova to schedule more Chest Farm days. They were not convinced and were planning to have a meeting the next day to discuss what was wrong with Dark. Ardi tried to convince Gem and Nova once more. But on his way he lost control over Dark and - Dark went to Shiroiki for help. Ardi was afraid of being revealed and him losing control over Dark so he decided to kill him.
Darkward
- Deadman
- Was still covered in cake from helping Shiroiki because he’s a zombie.
- If people ask questions say you took the answer to your grave or something.

How: Dark is under a spell by Ardi and is forced to throw himself of a cliff.
Motive: PSDH SW chestfarm guild.

Here we go, the scary story entries.
Merula's Story
She had no idea how much time had passed since the lights-out. Felt like hours. She listened to the even, slow breathing of sleeping roommates, hoping the calm rhythm would lessen her anxiety. The old barn, which had been converted to a simple but comfortable guesthouse, was making noises as old houses do. There was the creaking of wood, the brushing and soft tapping of tree branches against the rooftop, the whistling of air pushing through invisible cracks. It was all unfamiliar and unsettling. The sleeping bag she was zipped in enclosed her tightly, disallowing comfortable movement. The bed, slightly too hard, forced her to lie flat on her back. She was staring straight at the ceiling, at the barely visible shapes of water stains. Her tired eyes played tricks, making the shapes move, morph, vanish and appear again. So focused on what she saw, she didn’t notice when all the sounds of an old house died off, leaving only the rhythmic breathing of five people around her. As she suddenly became aware of the new silence, her fright grew. The panic, the pounding heart prompted her to shout out, but the embarrassment at the thought of doing so stopped her. She didn’t move. She listened. She thought she was able to tell the individual breaths apart. They formed a singular choir – Dark’s and Corine’s to the left, Nova’s and Rick’s on the opposite side of the room and, to her right, Matt’s. This was the strangest, softest, whispering music – pulsing life pushing away and against the surrounding stillness. Dark’s quiet snoring rose and fell, leading the others. And then it stopped. She listened for it, waited, wished it to come back. Instead, a few desperate heartbeats later, she could no longer hear anything to her left at all – Corine’s gentle breath was no longer audible. A short sigh came from Nova’s bed, and then she too fell silent. Like gas lamps at dawn, they were gone one by one. Rick followed, and in horror she turned to Matt. He was motionless and soundless, trapped in a suffocating freeze-frame. She screamed. Too late.
Tweetiti's Story
It’s October the 31st and Mr Dark decided to invite some of the PSDH commanders to check out the place for the next meet in 2017 and suggests they sleep over that weekend.
Once everyone has settled down Mr Dark says that tonight they will have a fireplace to eat marshmallows and hot chocolate since it’s cold.
- In order to do this we need to gather woods in the forest. I’ll stay here and prepare everything you guys go get the wood.
It’s cold and dark outside so gathers their mobile phone to be able to see ahead.
Ardi, and Nova team up and advance into the wood and start collecting dead pieces of wood on the floor.
But soon they get lost and start panicking.
SUDDENLY a monster appear in front of them.
He is tall, muscly and has dark hair all over his body.
- Ah here you are, welcome to the Halloween game
- The Halloween game?” asks Ardi?
The monster voice is scary but somewhat familiar.
- Yes, you see I am starving so I’ll count to ten and if I find you I eat you.
- ONE
Ardi and Nova start running for their life.
- TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT NINE…
Unfortunately Ardi trips and falls
- TEN! Ah I found you, says the monster.
The monster mouth starts widening, widening and widening until he gobbles Ardi in one go! It was horrible.
Nova sees this and screams. She runs even faster but the monster is very fit and gets closer and closer.
Suddenly Nova feels a claw on her shoulder and falls in terror on the floor. She felt her shoulder being shaken by a hand
- Wake up! It was Nova’s husband trying to wake Nova up
- Honey I have Mr Dark on the phone for you
- Hi Dark, sorry I was still sleeping
- Hi this weekend I have booked the place for the PSDH meet so we can check it out, plus it’s the Halloween weekend, Ardi is up for it are you free?
Suddenly Nova realised why that monster voice was so familiar…
Anya Riku's story
Anya Rikku's story of Halloween and not based on any poem to do with Christmas
Twas the night before Halloween,
when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a Skritt.
The pumpkin were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that the mad king soon would be there.
The Guild were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of precursors danced in their heads.
And Dark in only a ‘kerchief, and Nova in a cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long Autumns nap.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a man pulled sleigh, and eight dead guildies with a look of fear,
With a pumpkin head driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Mad King. “ick!”
More rapid than dragons his corpses they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Gem! Now, Ardi! now, Tweetie and Red
On, shiroiki! On, Kaelik! on, on Zorkesh and Jari!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the Sky.
So up to the house-top the corpse they flew,
With the sleigh full of bags, and greens and blues.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The stomping and stamping of each little foot.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Mad King came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fire, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with blood and soot.
His eyes-how they flamed! his laugh how merry!
His sword unsheathed, i gasp “HAIL MARY”!
His mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the look on my face was white as snow.
He slashed Novas right up to her teeth,
And cut her head to look like a wreath.
He hacked a broad face on Darks round belly,
That he shoked about like a bowlful of jelly!
A wink of his eye and a twist of my head,
Soon gave me to know I was already dead.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And killed the rest of the guildies, then had a quick jerk.
He sprang to his sleigh, and his team gave a groan,
And away they all glide as they twitched and moan.
‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Halloween to all,
and to all a good-night!"
Logarithmics story
Hooray for Saturday! No work and plenty of loot! Nova found herself commanding a crack team of dragon hunters and already fell the mighty Tequatl and the nearly indestructible Taidha. Now it was time to give the wurms a good spanking . She took on Cobalt as she felt confident about her team and on the way to Jelako’s beach Shiroki whispered: “Wouldn’t it be fun if we all drank lots of rum before the event?”
The soft baritone voice of Shiroiki immediately swayed Nova and all drunk the endless rum and all became drunk on it. This time the rum stayed in the inventory. “Must be the patch,” Nova thought. Unfortunately when the event started, and barrels were run, her team could not walk the plank nor complete the jumping puzzle, for they were all drunk. They failed and she took the blame since she was the commander, she should have known better. To compensate for loot lost the guild organised an extended chest farm. Ardi hunted chests, Shiroiki spun his tale and the rest drunk their endless rum, except for Nova who was still cross at it. She simply relaxed to the monotonous task and the soft baritone voice of Shiroki. She snapped out of it when she saw that Ardi wasn’t opening any chests, instead immediately running to the next spot when the group arrived. She whispered him a question about this, to which Ardi simply replied: “This is more efficient for Shiroiki”. Then Nova stopped listening to Shiroiki’s voice and started to listen to his words: ”You will give me all of your precursors and all of your bags even all the piles of silky sand for I want it all!”
Nova screamed: “No stop! Don’t do that!” But no-one listened for she was the one that took the blame for the rum incident. Slowly all others transformed into loot carrying skritt, save for the mighty Norn. They were forced to strip down and wear bunny ears and butterfly wings. The guild name changed from PSDH to SM, Shiroiki’s Minions. Nova left the guild not wanting to be in bondage in SM. She was now being hunted by bunny butterflies lead by Shiroiki’s dark commander.
Soon the entire server were skritt and bunny butterflies. All players lured to the promise of endless rum and loot. Not knowing that only the rum was theirs to keep.
