Hello PSDH!
Good news everyone, we have finally decided on where and when the 2019 PSDH meeting is going to be and opened up the registration! This year we’ll be going back to the lovely United Kingdom and will be staying Forrest Green, Surrey, which is located south-west of London.
Date: August 23, 24, 25 (bank holiday weekend for the UK people)
Where: Forest Green, Dorking, Surrey, UK
We have found a lovely accommodation which is called “The Mill”. It’s a large bunkhouse property which sleeps about 40 people spread over 7 bedrooms. The Mill is situated on the Surrey/West Sussex border. Originally a corn mill, the Mill has been converted over the years to accommodate 40 guests within the main building. The site has 10 acres of ground which comprises of meadow, wood, pond and stream, practically a nature reserve. The village pub, the Parrot, is 5 mins walk away, so for those of you who want to go out for a pint, this is possible, although it’s a small pub meaning they won’t be able to accommodate a large group.

Pricing
This year we’ll be offering “weekend-packages” which - we think - are reasonably priced. The reason we have chosen for this is so we can split the costs and keep the overall price low.
- Full weekend package - 70 euro - Including a place to sleep, food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) and drinks (soda, juice, beer wine) for the whole weekend
- Half package - 30 euro - You won’t be sleeping at the accommodation, but are joining us for food and drinks
- Day package - free - You’ll just join us for the day and take care of everything yourself
The accommodation has space for max 40 people, once these spots are taken we’re full and can’t take any more who want to stay over (unless you want to pitch up a tent). Spots are given on first come first serve base.
We will take care of the grocery shopping and make sure there are enough food and drinks for everyone. If you have any special requests please make them known and we can figure out if it fits our budget or if it’s something you’ll have to bring yourself.
Besides food and drinks, we will also organize some activities in which you can participate and perhaps win a prize ;) If you have ideas for activities or maybe have a cool board game which you can bring, please do so!
Things you have to bring yourself
- Your happy face!
- Sleeping bag or bed linen. The accommodation offers to rent bed linen for 10 pounds per person.
- Hard liquor. We will only provide beer and wine, any other alcoholic drink you will have to bring yourself (for yourself or to share).
If you would like to bring a snack or food to share we would highly appreciate this. If we all bring something small it will add up really quick and we’ll probably have a bunch of different things to snack on during the weekend.
Activities
To be announced. We are still turning gears on what kind of activities we’d like to offer. Once we have more information we’ll let you know!

Because this year we will be pre-booking the accommodation we will require everyone who signs up to pay in advance. We know transferring money to someone unknown while the meetup is still months away can be a little daunting, but hopefully, we’ve built up some credibility over the years organizing these events. Still not a Nigerian prince who needs some cash to unlock their fortune ;)

Not entirely sure it's a good idea to be around other people for an entire weekend, but...

Ok signed up too. ^^;; Even though I don't know 90% of the guild. So i guess I'll have to bring my maximum socialising skills or hide in a corner a lot.
For the activities:
1) we got some board games lying around. I'll have a look if there some in English
2) We own the wood throwing game Kubb. Maybe fun to do?
3) A few years ago I made a Capture the Flag game for a bachelor party. There are only 8 Nerf guns but dunno? Or you could use only the flags?
4) well you can play things like the zombie game. Or hunters and wolves. Those work well with big groups.
As for the parts of Kubb and the nerf guns. I would like to see those back in one piece and about 90% of the nerf bullets retrieved. Those things cost quite a bit of money.

We have a few card games: Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard, Exploding Kittens (nsfw deck) and Superfight, can take any or all of them ^^

If we know what games you are thining of bringing it probably wont be to hard to find a copy of the english rules and print those off if needed.
Hopefuly I should bring cake.... will have to see what dietry restrictions there are before I start planing.

Update: Got some more registrations in and received first of the payments \o/
Registration total is now: 18

I will probably bring Carcassonne along with me and maybe Settlers of Catan. Both rulebooks are in Dutch as are the cards used in Catan but we just have to see how it goes.
I might have another game to bring game along but it depends on when shipping happens since currently it is planned for September.

Out of interest what are the checking check out times and when do those coming by car reasonably expect to arrive?
Ive booked my flights and need to look at travel to the place from LHR. Ill be arriving in LHR about 11am if anyone wants to meet up and travel on with me?

We're still figuring out logistics so we don't have exact check-in and check-out times. For now, it looks like you'll probably be able to arrive at the accommodation after 5PM. Once we have more detailed information I'll send out an email to all registered people.

I'm new to the guild anyway but would find it interesting to meet up with fellow guild warsers and you guys seem nice! Saying that, I'm flying to Poland on a one-way on June 4th and will be coming back to the UK for festival working, probably, at some point, so don't even know if I'd be free at that time - with all this in mind I don't think I'd book a spot but if I do I'd likely book it just before closing date of July 1st.
My only question is: The half package covers if I came in my tent right? - RL adventurer, so it's my most usual home anyway, just without as much equipment as the FFXV boys seem to keep in their pockets.

Unfortunately, they do not allow tents (unless we rent the space for that).

We'll need to some time to pre-arrange some stuff before everyone arrives. If you arrive after 17:30 we have (hopefully) finished most of the stuff and things shouldn't be as hectic anymore. Expect an e-mail with more information (including arrival/leave times) next week.
