Introduce Yourself! / Crash
« on: June 30, 2016, 08:13:47 PM »
Hey you lovely bunch!

So I'm Crash - I've been here for a little bit now, it just takes me a while to introduce myself, through some forms occasionally... never talking though!

I'm a geek at heart and soul, and will spend every waking hour on my pc, xbox or just sitting reading and reviewing about different games, I can't help myself.

Biggest achievement in games:
  • Being the Guild Leader of "We Havent Got A Guild [NaMe]" for 3 years during Guild Wars 1 - At which point we held Haus Zu Heltzer for majority of the time Factions was out (The capital city of the Kurzicks)
  • Meeting a great group of friends through a gaming community on my Xbox [KSI] where I worked up to a point that I was in charge of a division, entailing around 1200 people at max.
  • Of course, by no means least - joining PSDH has been a fantastic experience already, everyone is super friendly, and the commanders, especially a couple of you have inspired me to want to become a commander, not just for that little arrow tag, but to actually assist and run events!

I'm often on guild chat, trying to keep something going, or in Team Speak trying to keep my seat warm! - Sorry if you hear me, I swear a lot! I don't mean to, but if you hear me, I apologise! (I'm trying to stop!!)

But anyway, as per usual, I'm rambling on - So I'm going to shut up and get back to things! - Hey!

Technical Support and Suggestions / Birthdays
« on: June 08, 2016, 06:53:47 PM »
Afternoon all!

Now a lot of you know who I am, I've not been here a massive amount of time, but I make myself known. I talk to everyone in the chat whether I know who they are or not, and I do the same in Team Speak. I'm very much outspoken, and that's probably why you know me, because I'm loud.

But what about those that aren't so loud, or talkative, and don't go about making themselves known to the community as quickly as I try.

Proposition
What I propose, is simple, a calendar. Displaying everyone in the guild and their Birthday's.

This can be done a number of ways;
  • The player adds his/her own birthday to the Calendar
  • This is added by the forum administrators after an extensive "when is your birthday?" type mail
  • When the player joins up to the forum, they're asked when their Birthday is, and it automatically adds it to the calender

Why add Birthdays you might ask;

As stated in my initial point, I make myself known - now within games, and these guilds some people straight away are known within the majority of the community, and others are not. This goes the same at school, work, social, etc. When Birthdays come around, some people get presents, some people don't, some get "Happy Birthday" - some don't get noticed.

Now I'm not using this as an excuse for more presents on mine February 6th for those that want to know - but using 1 example, one of the already known players has had their present bought and delivered by a friend, as they're known, they get other presents, well wishes and nice greetings. Someone else also has a Birthday that day, they're not known so much, they're over shadowed by the first, don't want to get involved into the community as much as it's something they've previously mentioned but hasn't been remembered nor recognised.

So something simple, like a "Happy Birthday" or a cheap dye / sharpening stone / mini pet makes their day.

Making a calendar, saves the remembering and makes more Birthdays a good day. 'cos we're here to celebrate each other, not put them down!

-----Edit-----

The Birthday Calendar has been added into - http://psdh.eu/index.php?action=calendar

If you don't find your birthday, make sure to add it into your forum profile!
