Triple Trouble Wurm / Re: Guide to condi as an Elementalist

Isn't Ring of Fire cast around you? You will stand in it anyway and can just immediately follow up with Phoenix.

Also the husk is burning permanently because of Ring of Fire and Dragon's tooth mostly. The trait only helps keeping it up. Signet of Earth looks pretty useful, I wouldn't replace that.

Hello.

Well, you might not know me, I stopped doing events with PSDH (or generally open world PvE) a long time ago. Still I regularly check this forum when I'm bored and I love making/perfecting builds.

Just some thoughts regarding your guide:

In your rotation:
What about putting a Phoenix after a Ring of Fire for 3 additional stacks of might? 3 stacks of might should increase your condi-damage by about 7%. At only 1/4 seconds cast time it sounds worth it to me.

Traits:
Pretty good but did you consider taking Strength of Stone (Earth VII) as Grandmaster? You shouldn't really need the passive effects of the signets and you gain another 15% more condi-damage.

Sigils:
Torment looks good but the Sigil or Earth looks replacable to me. Ignoring the fact that you should cap 25 stacks easily with Ice Storm + Churning Earth + Signet of Earth + earth autoattacks/nearby necro - Corruption looks like a way better choice, 15+% more condition damage (if you get stacks beforehand and don't die). Or Frailty... although I honestly have no idea if Vulnerability works with Conditions.

Finally regarding utilities:
That heal? Well, you can use it offensively (3 might if cast in fire) and it heals you for a fair amount. I'd definitely go for Arcane Brilliance though. It's a blast finisher giving 3 might for you AND nearby allies when cast in your Ring of Fire. It gives 3 might for 5 allies in phase 2 or generally burn phases. And the healing isn't really inferior to the Glyph.
And why the Signet of Fire? You already have perma burning on your husk and should trigger Blinding Ashes every 5 seconds (ICD). So the active effect is basically useless. The passive effect increases your precision which is kinda nice... but did you consider taking Arcane Wave? It's an insta-cast blast finisher. You honestly can't ever have enough of them. :p

If my calculations are not mistaken and I didn't miss obvious flaws in my suggestions you could deal about 40+% more condi-damage to your husk while also providing way more group utility.
Well, I hope this helps you. :)

Wow, if I had bigger feet and a beard I would be Darkward. Everything else matches perfectly.

Oh, and the hamster... mine had a strange german name I actually forgot.

Triple Trouble Wurm / Necromancer builds on PSDH
« on: May 19, 2014, 02:47:19 PM »
Also remember this condi guide which can also be found in the Wurm guide section of this forum:
http://gw2community.com/index.php?/topic/281-triple-trouble-condition-tactics/
Damond (the author) is a really experienced necro and he\'s melting husks really fast.
So regarding gear: If you have/can afford multiple sets and can swap sets before phase 2: Take Dire or Rabid for phase 1 and swap to Berserker/Rampager for phase 2.

Triple Trouble Wurm / Necromancer builds on PSDH
« on: May 19, 2014, 09:07:38 AM »
Unfortunately I don\'t play necromancer myself.
On the TS of gw2community I found this build recommended:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vQAQNArYWjc00dbxNO2wfbCB6RvgLgY0DiJYSGqClDA-zwBBYhCik0gk3BK5sIasVTFRjVdDTHjIqmUAwMNC-e

They did say however that there are other possibilities and the important thing is having Epidemic.
I guess they chose rampager gear for phase 2. You need power and precision there. And they probably chose spectral walk for swiftness.
If you want to focus on killing husks but be rather useless in phase 2, go with full dire gear and choose Blood is Power instead of Spectral Walk.

Triple Trouble Wurm / How I feel about Wurm...
« on: May 18, 2014, 08:02:42 AM »
I don\'t find runs frustrating if we do a decent job. I find it frustrating to spend several hours organizing such an event and apart from the core of like 20 people (essentially those registered on this forum) nobody seems to care and we fail miserably.

As long as we are only doing Tequatl and phase 1 of the Wurm I agree with Mister Fussypants. We could just use the pugs and type. This is annoying but might/should succeed.

Where we really need people on TS is for phase 2. In that phase we simply don\'t have the time to type. And it requires much more coordination and faster reactions. Pugs won\'t react, die and worst of all: make the Wurm rush out of the corner.

I think we should give it a try though:
- Tell pugs that there is our TS
- Continue with the try, even if we don\'t have numbers on TS
- Type all the stuff
- After the fail tell pugs that it wasn\'t bad, we could do better with more numbers and everyone on TS and try to recruit them for PSDH or for future attempts.
In short: trick them into joining PSDH
Naturally many of them will abandon us but if we only get one or two dedicated players from it it\'s already worth it.

This will require more effort, especially from commanders/people on \"typing duty\", but I for my part would be up for it.

Triple Trouble Wurm / Triple Trouble Wurm Guides

Very useful. Can you edit preferred weapons in please?
Like for Guardian NO HAMMER and for Thief, Mesmer, Ranger, and so on: sword/other cleaving weapons.

If that happens... a long period of not killing would probably follow though.
Spread the word PSDH killed it and the next attempt we get a full map... filled with achievement hunters, first timers and people not coming on TS.

I agree that our Wurm tries are frustrating most of the time.

My motivation for organizing the Wurm is at the same time the solution I see:
Build a community with people that join TS, know what to do in encounters like this, are able to listen/follow what they are told and run builds/strategies that are useful in zerg events like this. With the goal to make our community a strong factor in PvE to kill the Wurm/Teq and possible future bosses, as well as the future living story. I\'m pretty sure something like the \"6 minutes to knightfall\" achievement will be repeated and a strong and experienced community is the best way to deal with that.
What we would need for that: More people and especially dedicated people.
How to get them: Clean PSDH from inactives/people that don\'t care about the events (I know this is being done atm but will take a few weeks) and then recruit more people. Recruit them especially at the events/in TS (!).
Possible problem: People with other home servers might be reluctant to join us because of our guild name.
I addressed that at a commander meeting right after the feature patch and want to repeat it: With Megaservers there is no longer Piken in PvE. And the original goal of PSDH got lost over time and because of megaservers anyway (it was to kill Teq on Piken daily).
So I think we should decide on a new (official) goal/motivation for the guild and act accordingly.
I don\'t know if there is a possibility to change a guild\'s name and don\'t want to suggest this either, but you have to face it: if we stay a \"Piken\" community we will never kill the Wurm.

Sorry for straying from the topic a little but the reason for the problem addressed in the start post and for our bad Wurm runs lies deeper. Not enough people on TS, bad commanders/condies/diboofers/might-stacking/whateveryouwanttocomplainabout, not enough overall people/dedication are only the symptoms.

General Chat / Combo Fields
« on: May 17, 2014, 08:08:52 AM »
You can\'t emphasize it enough: One Light/Water/Static/Ethereal/Poison/Dark Field can already destroy the whole might stacking. Thus the whole zerg looses like 30% dps or so. That is devastating and we want only (!!) fire fields.

... but still I fear that the people reading this already know about it.
Anyway, remember to mention it at every event we do and eventually everyone participating will know it too... hopefully.

Triple Trouble Wurm / Reflecting Eggs at Wurm - Bugged (?)
« on: June 04, 2014, 09:02:22 PM »
Basically this: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/gw2/Tripple-Wurm-Deboof-nerf

It seems since the last patch reflects are bugged in some encounters (for this far unknown reasons), mainly Malrona (TA up) and Triple Trouble Wurm.
As you can read in the linked thread it's probably unintentional and might be fixed and if not, there are other (more tricky) ways to prevent eggs.
Anyway, I decided to tell you here because tomorrow there is a practice run scheduled... which would probably be a waste of time looking at this (and I won't be there to warn you).

Introduce Yourself! / Guess it's my turn now
« on: May 12, 2014, 11:18:03 PM »
Hello!
As this is a community guild/project it really is a good idea to get to know each other a bit better.

For PSDH events I'm usually logged on my mesmer, Dob S, but as I'm not really happy as mesmer anymore (for several reasons, mainly missing bug-fixes) you might see me on my warrior, ele or guardian in future events. They all have Dobie in their name so they should be easy to recognize.
The nick Dobie doesn't originate in the name of the famous house elf btw. As a matter of fact it was simply a construct of random syllables I made up several years ago in another MMO.
Over the years I gathered a lot of experience with MMOs of all sorts, especially a fantastic game called Cabal Online which unfortunately got worse patch by patch and became unplayble for me about 2.5 years ago.

I'm from germany but my english seems to be good enough to communicate with you all. I apologize for the horrible accent you get to hear on TS though. Currently I'm studying to become a teacher for mathematics and physics so if anyone happens to still go to school and to urgently need an explanation on a topic... feel free to contact me and I'll try my best.

In GW2 I started half a year ago and am interested in most aspects of the game, especially the PvE side. I also played quite a bit of PvP but got slightly discouraged by players with 10x as much PvP experience and sitting at the top of the leaderboards stomping me. And WvW with its PvD, ZvZ and skill lag isn't really my favourite game mode either although I join and enjoy it every once in a while.

This should be enough about me...
See you ingame, fellow dragon hunters!
