Events / [Event] Balloon Trek
« on: March 14, 2016, 09:57:55 PM »
Hello PSDH!

After a successful Hide&Seek event we're going to organize an other guild event \o/ *yeey*

When: March 28th (Easter)
Time: 19:00GMT / 20:00CET

The past has told us that during holidays - like Easter - our numbers are always a bit lower, so instead of half-assing Teq and TT-Wurm and leaving you all in tears because you didn't get your greens and blues, we decided to organize a guild event for some laughs and banter.

The Event
Last event was Hide&Seek and this event is kinda like that. Since it's Easter we thought it be fun to do something related to that. First time comes to mind... searching for coloured eggs. But since we don't have egg decorations we're swapping them with coloured balloons :D

We've named this event: Balloon Trek

How it works
Me and Gem have gone around the guild hall and found some nice places were we can "hide" balloons. For each hiding spot we have thought of a cryptic text which should give you a (small) clue on where this balloon is hidden. Once you have found a balloon, you whisper the location of the balloon (+ decoration next to it) to either me or Gem and ff the answer is correct we will give you a letter which in the end will give you the final word.

Prizes
The first three who figure out the correct final answer will receive a "special" price :) Before the event we will announce the prizes.

Sign-up
We would like to know how many people are interested in participating in the event. Please let is us know by replying in this thread or sending me (MrDark.9634) an in-game whipser or mail.

Play The Game
If you were unable to join yesterday - or just didn't knew this event existed - you can now play the game yourself, without the prices of course unless you get something for yourself :P We will leave the balloons in there locations for the next one or two weeks.

Below you will find 10 cryptic messages which describes where a balloon is located. With each balloon we placed a decoration to make sure you actually found the balloon and are not just guessing. After you have found a balloon with a decoration you will receive a letter which in the end makes an anagram.

Cryptic Messages
#1: Far in the north and deepest corner you'll find this floating piece of coloured happiness
White - Bookcase - U
#2: Far in the back this balloon is withstanding a force of nature
Green - Red Festival Umbrella - D
#3: We know our guilds lead 'office'r is hot but is he as hot as this balloon?
Orange - Holiday Wreath - E
#4: For our favourite explorer
Purple - Torch - O
#5: Could this balloon have been here since we first claimed our guildhall?
White - Basket - N
#6: Ini meeny miny mo ... which side I will pick you have to know..
Blue - Crate - R
#7: Guilded hollow? This safe bit of it is really golden but hands off Gem's case of rum!
Purple - Keg - R
#8: Arrrgh, matey, go swab the deck you scurvy bastard!
Fushia - Candle(s) - T
#9: There's got to be a way out of this forsaken place somewhere round Tarir
Yellow - Mushroom - A
#10: Bringing some colour in the grey and brown life our hard working slaves
Red - Jack-o-Lantern - N

If you have trouble finding all balloons and require some help, we have screenshots of all the balloon locations:

2: http://imgur.com/uIiCnrM
3: http://imgur.com/xEs4xxe

7: http://imgur.com/6whuAuU
8: http://imgur.com/aCR7CMm
9: http://imgur.com/6grqzAx (Not the actual location, but near)
10: http://imgur.com/6grqzAx

Final Clue
Once you have found all 10 balloons, you may open the following final clue which should help you solve the anagram.
Take the letters you earned and add a touch of home. Mix them up to figure out this classy clue for your chance at glory.

Final Answer
So you think you have found the answer? Or are you cheating ;)
Hint 1: Adding a touch of home refers to the Guild Hall, so G and H
Hint 2: Figure out this classy clue... it's not only a class, but also a rank in PSDH
Final Answer: And the final answer is..... Dragon Hunter[/b]

Events / Event schedule discussion
« on: February 22, 2016, 09:49:40 AM »
Over the last few weeks we've seen a decline in participating members for events like Tequatl and TT-Wurm. We - the PSDH Leaders - think this might be because of the rotating schedule we currently have in place and people can't be bothered to check the schedule. Even if it only takes 5 seconds. Currently PSDH has about 350+ members and only 10 to 15% joins our events regularly, this causes us to post LFGs which is a pain in the back.

I would like to use this thread to discuss our current event schedule and ways to improve it and how we can make sure people keep joining us. Should we go back to a static schedule? Do we need to do events on different days? Set raid/dungeon/fractal nights? More different events on more days? Etc..

We're open to all comments, complaints and suggestions.

Events / Guild Jumping Challenge
« on: February 09, 2016, 03:24:51 PM »
Hello PSDH!

Some of you might have heard me - or one of the other guild leaders - talk about this on Teamspeak and now the time is finally here!
PSDH Guild Hall Jumping Challenge

No idea what I'm talking about?
If you have recently (Wintersday) joined the PSDH guild hall you might have seen some floating snow piles at the central waypoint. This is the start of our very own jumping puzzle! Well.. more like a jumping challenge :)

The idea is that we all gather in the guild hall, transform into Quaggans (potions will be provided) and rush to the top. The first 5 who reach the top will win one of our special prices!

To make sure everyone plays fair and doesn't use teleportation/portal skills to skip parts we will have various "jumping referees" along the course. If you wish to participate in the event but are not a great jumper, you may volunteer as a "jumping referee".

When: February 14th
Gathering Time: 14:00UTC / 15:00GMT+1 (After TT-Wurm)
Start Time: 14:15UTC / 15:15GMT+1
Where: PSDH Guild Hall + Teamspeak

Makes sure you're in the guild hall BEFORE starting time, otherwise you'll have a chance of ending on the wrong map which excludes you from the event.

Jumping Referees

- Kaelik Wau

Prizes

2nd place: Gift of choice from the store of max 250 gems
3rd place: 20 Gold
4th place: 10 Gold
5th place: 5 Gold
6th place: 2.5 Gold

Raids / Dark's Raid Team [9/10]
« on: November 25, 2015, 09:39:22 AM »
Hello and welcome to an other episode of raiding with Mr_Dark!

In this episode I'm looking to form a "dedicated" raid team to clear the Spirit Vale raiding wing. Hopefully this will allow us to run with the same group of players every time so we don't have to look for a new player when someone has to leave. For those who won't or can't make it on the team, no worries; I will still be running PUG raids with PSDH and Enigma members :)

When do I plan on raiding:
I'm only available during the weekdays so:
  • Monday - After Teq/TT Wurm/TD
  • Tuesday evening
  • Wednesday - After Teq/TT Wurm/TD
  • Thursday evening

We won't be raiding every evening, once we have a full team we can discuss the next raid date and time.

Team
Mr_Dark, pizzapunt, Sabetha, Kevorkian, Kaelik Wau, Vryce, Ashinor, Zevvy, Nendagor

Tank:
* Mr_Dark - Darkward - Berserker
Ashinor - Jynorä - Warrior

Healer:
* Vryce - Cazarhil - Druid
Kaelik Wau - Revenant Sekk - Revenant

Condi:
* Sabetha - Shalashia - Reaper
* Zevvy - Zevvy - Engineer/Scrapper
* Nendagor - Nendagor - Engineer
Ashinor - Sharrar - Elementalist

Heralds:
* Ashinor - Ashïron
- OPEN SLOT

Chronomancer:
* pizzapunt - Ardi Veftvohl

DPS:
* Kevorkian - Baroness Regret - Warrior
* Kaelik Wau - Kealik Wau - Warrior
Ashinor - Ashinor - Warrior
Nendagor  - Nendragen - Warrior

If you're interested in filling one of the spots, feel free to post a reply with your character name, profession and the role you'd like to fulfil.

Raids / Spirit Vale Guide/Tips

Written guide by Dulfy

Video guide by DnT

Last night we got together 10 players and tried the first raid wing. After about 4 hours of dying we had to stop because it was getting late.
Thanks everyone who joined, hope you had as much fun as I did :D

Party Composition
Over the evening we had about 5 or 6 different group compositions because people had to leave. One thing we did notice is that we did a lot more damage when we had 2 Druids in the group.

Over the evening we have had the following classes:
1 x Warrior / Berserker (Semi-Tank, PvT armor, Zerk weapons)
1 x Berserker
2 x Chronomancer
3 x Reaper
2 x Druid
1 x Tempest
2 x Guardian / Dragonhunter

Maybe someone else remembers the composition we had on the final attempt.

Mini-Bosses
It's possible to swap traits and weapons between bosses, just make sure everyone is out of combat.

Blue Guardian
Green magic circles will spawn on the ground, you must have at least 4 (non-downed) players in it, otherwise it will do massive AoE damage which is likely to wipe the group. Call it out when you see a circle.

Before you can damage this boss you will have to strip his boons; Mesmers and Necromancers are especially good for this. When the boons are stripped just full DPS.

Skills/Traits/Utilities that can remove boons: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Boon#Related_skills

Red Guardian
This guy can only be damaged by using condition damage (TT-Wurm husks on steroids). He will also spawn seekers which do AoE damage, use knock backs to keep them away from the group.

Green Guardian
No strategy, just full DPS. Every few seconds he will spawn blue circles on the ground which will do damage and teleport you away from the boss.

Final Boss (Vale Guardian)
The Vale Guardian is a combination of the Blue, Red and Green guardians.

Note: In our attempts we only came in phase 3 and had it down to about 70% health

Before you get in the arena split up in 3 groups; DPS, Condi and Boon strip. This is needed for when the boss splits back into the 3 guardians (Phase 2).

Aggro: The boss will aggro on the first person who hits it! We've learned this the hard way and have had glass zerker have aggro on the boss :P
So when you step into the arena, let the tank go in first and do some damage first. After that the rest can move in.

Arena: When the boss fight starts a wall will appear around the arena which makes it impossible for players to get out, but also to get in.
Before we entered the arena we did a ready check to see if everyone was still there. After the ready check we stepped into the arena, just on the edge so we didn't aggro the boss. Once we were all in the arena I moved in to aggro the boss.

Phase 1
The Value Guardian will do all attacks from the 3 mini-bosses at the same time; Green magic circle, Blue teleports and Red AoE balls.
When you see a green circle appearing: Call it out right away!. It will wipe the group if there are not at least 4 players in the green circle before channelling ends.

To make phase 1 a bit easier and not have the green magic circles spawn all over the arena, the tank should get the boss to the side of the arena. The green circles spawn in relation do the boss location, so when the boss is against the wall the circles will only appear on one half of the arena.

Green circles must have #1 priority! Even above picking up downed players, because if you don't have at least 4 (non-downed) players in the circle the whole group will wipe.

Phase 2
When the boss is down to about 75% health it will split into Green, Blue and Red Guardian again. Before it does that you have a short period of time to move to the correct pillar which was assigned to your group (what I talked about at the start). You will receive an icon above your head which should correspond with the colour of the guardian you're killing. If you go to another colour guardian (eg, you have green and go to red), you will receive more damage.

Just kill the guardians using their own mechanism, once their health is 0% a break bar will appear. When all break bars are gone the 3 guardians will merge back into the Vale Guardian.

Phase 3
The Vale Guardian will come back again and it's basically the same as phase 1, but harder. The main difference is that parts of the floor will now light up and do damage over time to everyone who's on that floor part. It's essential to kite the boss around away from the floor part which active.

Phase 4
Similar to phase 2 but harder. Make sure to get to your pillar on time.

Phase 5
Similar to phase 3, but now 2 parts of the floor light up.
Your tank will have to time when he/she pulls the boss towards the next floor part, otherwise you might end up with a green circle on an active floor.

This is were we wiped and called it a day. Hopefully more updates soon ;)

Update 19/11
Last night we got it down to around 25% health and went in phase 5. With all the different attacks going on it's good to have dedicated callers for green and blue circles.

News & Announcements / New Event Schedule
« on: November 05, 2015, 08:30:58 PM »
The moment you've all been waiting for! The new PSDH Event Schedule is here!

You might notice that we've changed it to a bi-weekly schedule instead of a regular week. The reason for this is that we're trying to cooperate more events and try to give everyone a chance to run with PSDH. We will give this schedule a try-out until the end of the year, after that the commanders and coordinators will evaluate it and see if there are any changes needed.

News & Announcements / Guild Culture
« on: October 08, 2015, 10:30:24 PM »
Over the past few months PSDH has grown very rapidly and with that the PSDH culture has changed a little. Today I’m here to talk to you about the PSDH culture and how we can make it better again. (I’ll try to keep it short). The main reason for this post is because of some discussion about our zero-tolerance rule on Quaggans (looOovely little creatures).

PSDH was created to be a fun guild which people can join to do large-scale events which need some coordination (e.g. Tequatl and Wurm). Because we don’t want to be a military style guild and we’d like to keep things simple, we only have two rules:
  • Treat everyone (in and out of the guild) with respect
  • Join teamspeak during events
Over the last 2 or 3 months we’ve seen a change in the way people treat each other in guild/map chat but also on Teamspeak.

Cursing
The usage of curse words has been increased - mainly on teamspeak. PSDH does not have a minimum age restriction so it would be great if cursing can be kept at a minimum. We don’t want inflict bad behaviour on our younger guildies. I will admit I’m also letting out a curse word once in awhile of which I’m not proud of as I’m here to set the an example.

Joking / Trolling
Getting back on the Quaggan topic. This is a joke which has gotten out of hand. It started as an internal joke between a few guildies but has gradually spread out to guild, say and map chat and Teamspeak. Some of our self-proclaimed Quaggan haters spoke out about their Quaggan hate when someone said something nice about Quaggans to which the Quaggan lovers responded again to get a rise out of the haters. This became a vicious circle and turned into a tornado.

While we certainly do enjoy a joke or two - especially during down time on Teamspeak, when we’re not busy getting the event organization ready - this one in particular got really out of hand. This caused us to enforce the infamous Q-rule; If you say Quaggan in chat or Teamspeak you’ll have to donate 1 gold to the guild bank. As of right now this rule no longer applies, please make sure we don’t have to re-enforce it ;)

Let me get this straight. It’s fine to speak your mind when you do or do not like something, just don’t start or keep responding if you feel like the others are just trying to get a rise out of you (aka trolling). If you and this other person do not mind the trolling, please keep it in whisper or party chat so you don’t bother the rest of the guild with it.

Communication
If there is something/someone in the guild which/who you don’t like or can be changed, you can always contact one (or more) of the coordinators and discuss it with us. If you think more people should hear it and give their voice about it, feel free to give us a signal after TT-Wurm or on Thursday when more people are online on teamspeak and we’ll let people stay a bit longer so you can do your story.

You can also give your thoughts anonymously on the website using the Thought Box.

Don’t think that because you’re “just a member” you don’t have any say in how PSDH is ran. We value all input and always try to make PSDH a better place.

Conclusion
I hope you understand this and we can take PSDH back to that point where everyone who joins the guild and Teamspeak feels welcome and can have a good time.

Further I would advise you to (re-)read the PSDH Etiquette and PSDH Membership, so that you really understand how we’d envision PSDH to be.

Thank you for reading. If you have any questions or comments feel free to post them below.

Events / [Poll] Guild Hall - UPDATE
« on: September 30, 2015, 11:03:42 PM »
UPDATE
You have spoken and so we'll be claiming Gilded Hollow as our guild hall on Sunday, October 25th.

We will start at 13:00 (UTC) / 14:00 (+1GMT). Please be on Teamspeak at least 15 minutes before we begin!

Note: Time will be set 1 hour back for most of Europe and the UK

This time you may vote for two things at the same time!

1. When we go and claim our guild hall
Sunday we have more time because we can start in the afternoon and keep trying if we fail.
Monday we might have more players online because people might have things to do in the weekend.

2. Which guild hall type we're going to claim

Events / Sept 24 - In Memory of My Son
« on: September 18, 2015, 11:58:54 AM »
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Wow.. just wow. The whole evening was just great, fun and emotional (*cough*David singing*couch*). Thank you everyone who made this possible; the people who organized things and the people who joined us. I'm sure we made this an evening Jonas will never forget and pretty sure it will stick to more of you.

This really showed how awesome the Guild Wars community is. We might not know each other in real life, but in-game we're connected through the battlefield.

Thank you all!

p.s. I don't know who was cutting onions on teamspeak, but damn you!

Most of you have probably read the post on Reddit about a father who lost his son to leukaemia last year and is trying to keep the guild ([SweD] Sweden Dragonhunters) who his son started alive.

If you have not read it, please do so first:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3lbbnu/in_memory_of_my_son/

Now, because [PSDH] is a super awesome guild (and we both have Dragon Hunters in our name), we're going to support the guy and do a special Teq/Wurm night on Thursday September 24th under the [SweD] banner.

Here's what you have to do:
1. Send an in-game mail or whisper (if he's online) to JonasBL.8270 and ask for an invite to [SweD] guild
2. Spread the word about this event and get more people to join [SweD]
3. On Thursday, rep [SweD] instead of [PSDH] and join the fun!

Afterwards you're free to stay in [SweD] or leave again.

Later today I'll ask the guy if someone from PSDH can get invite rights to his guild so we can mass-accept you all.

When: Thursday September 24th
What: Extra Teq/Wurm night (see above for reason)
Where: Our teamspeak (ts.psdh.eu)

Tequatl - 19:00UTC / 20:00BST / 21:00CEST
Triple Trouble Wurm - 20:00UTC / 21:00BST / 22:00CEST
We jump 30 minutes before the event, make sure you're on teamspeak.

Show me what awesome guild PSDH is and lets make this happen!
