Sad to read this news, but you'll have to do what you think is best for yourself.

We'll always remember you by all the fun things you've done with PSDH. Don't become a stranger and feel free to join in for an event or two if you feel like.

So, what do we want to start off with this week?

My vote goes to Silverwastes (because I still need to finish that damn armor :P)

The only problem is only people from piken can join it.

Pretty much this. I think it would be better to keep it to PvE content since we don't want to exclude players because they're on another server.

If people want to do WvW, they can organize it for their server.

Triple Trouble Wurm / Re: Starting up serious attempt(s) for Naked TT Wurm?
« on: February 20, 2015, 08:46:56 AM »
Once a month sounds good, we don't want this to become a "regular" thing, has to stay special :P

To start things off we should do the first naked run on April 1st, which is on a Wednesday this year so we can do our regular run except naked (just like last time). After that we can - let's say - do a naked run every first Thursday of the month.

White gear supporter !
We can be naked in rl Oo.
But then you're still wearing armor, so it's hard to check if people actually switched.

Splendid, I'm in for the naked run.

On a different and somewhat unrelated note - International Women's Day is approaching. It's on the 8th of March (Sunday) and I was thinking that maybe we could celebrate it with some girl power.
If we have the numbers, wouldn't it be awesome if we could take out one of the Wurm's heads by our female selves? (Of course if we were to fail, boys wouldn't forget that... probably ever).

+ All female commanders?

News & Announcements / PSDH Membership Handbook
« on: February 17, 2015, 08:00:54 PM »
Hello fellow PSDH guildies!

PSDH exists now for about 1,5 year and in the last few months we've seen a big influx in new members, which is super awesome. Unfortunately with more members in our guild it increases the chance of players not getting along or thing going out of control. This got me thinking about updating our current rules and ended in writing the PSDH Membership Handbook.

PSDH has never been a guild with an endless list of rules and - don't worry -  we'll never be.

Over the last few weeks the PSDH coordinators and commanders have written and reviewed the handbook and today we bring it to the public. Not much has changed in regards to the old rule-set, but this time we also documented the things which we first took for granted and went more in-depth about thinks like guild ranks and raiding.

We hope you all agree with everything we have put in the handbook, if you have questions or you're missing something please tell us so we can add it.

The handbook can be found by clicking on "PSDH Membership" in the top menu or by visiting the "PSDH Membership Handbook" sub-forum.

PSDH Membership Handbook / PSDH Membership

PSDH Membership
Welcome at the frontpage of the PSDH membership handbook. Here you'll find all the information you need to know about PSDH regarding, guild etiquette, guild ranks, events/raids and more!

What is PSDH?
PSDH is an acronym for Piken Square Dragon Hunters! We are an alliance guild focused on running organized world boss kills for both casual and hardcore players. This means most of our members have PSDH as a secondary guild only for doing these big events, which require many people and a high level of coordination.

PSDH was founded on the server Piken Square - by DKAL members Kirmu and Gruumsh - in September 2013 with the idea to create an alliance between all small guilds on Piken Square to frequently create organized Tequatl runs.

When ArenaNet released the Triple Trouble Wurm world boss a new guild was created on Piken Square - by Enigma members Darkward and Kill Them All - named Natural Alliance. This guild had the same philosophy as PSDH but only focused on organizing runs for Triple Trouble Wurm.

PSDH and NA decided it would be best for Piken Square server to have only one big world boss guild organizing all events. Since PSDH had more members we merged Natural Alliance with Piken Square Dragon Hunters, making Kirmu and Darkward the new guild leaders.

While our main focus was to create alliances between guild, in time this has grown and now PSDH is a stand-alone world boss guild which also accepts individual members. With the megaserver feature we crossed borders and started to accept players who are not based Piken Square. We continue to welcome small/medium guilds as well as individuals to join us.

Our core principle stays the same; Whether you're a casual or hardcore player. PSDH organizes events for EVERYONE!

PSDH Membership Handbook / Raiding with PSDH

Raiding with PSDH

When is PSDH doing events and/or raids?
Please refer to our schedule for when which events and raids are organized.

Can I join a PSDH event/raid while not being a PSDH member?
Of course you can! Our TeamSpeak is open for all Guild Wars 2 players, so hop on TeamSpeak and join the event/raid channel. Teamspeak information can be found at the top right side of our website.

I have never done the event/raid before?
Our members and commanders are always willing to help you out and explain the event before it starts.

Why do I need to join TeamSpeak?
The reason we use TeamSpeak is to make communication between our members much simpler and faster. If you’re not careful the game will suppress anyone who types a lot in chat and squad chat is limited to only 50 players. By utilizing voice chat our commanders are able to give commands much faster than by having to type everything (and without the chance of being suppressed halfway through an event).

We can also determine the amount of players paying attention by looking at the number of people in the TeamSpeak channels. Don't mute TeamSpeak audio as you will be kicked from the event channels and potentially miss out of the event.

We only require you to be listening on TeamSpeak, unless you’re playing a role which requires talking.

How are events/raids organized?
Before an event/raid starts the following will happen:
  • 1 hour before event: Whispers are send out to all online members who are not representing PSDH at that moment (a message will also be sent out in guild chat)
  • 30 minutes before event: Jump into the event map - the jump will be coordinated on TeamSpeak
  • After the jump, commanders will find a suitable (almost empty) map instance
  • When an instance has been chosen, taxis will be offered on TeamSpeak
You can check which map instance you are on by using the "/ip" command in the chat window. This will give you the server IP. The commanders' chosen server IP will be placed in the TeamSpeak event channel name. If you are on a different instance you will need a taxi.

"Taxi" is the name for switching from one map instance to another. Use the "/join" command to join someone’s party, right click their party icon at the left side of your screen and then choose "Join at [map name]". People already in the map will put their "/join <character_name>" in TeamSpeak chat for you to copy.

If you get a message saying the map is full, you will have to keep trying because sometimes the server can be throttled due to the amount of people joining in a small period. Taxi-ing people after the jump is never a guarantee that you will get into the same map but we will do our best to find a map which appears to be empty. If you are online at the time we jump then you are far more likely to be able to participate than if you log in 5 minutes before the event starts!

Am I allowed to go AFK?
Do not go AFK unless you really have to. Make sure you are not AFK when the jump is about to happen. If you do go AFK, make sure you are stacked on the commander. Do not AFK near the Hylek turrets during Tequatl or the waypoint during Triple Trouble Wurm.
You should be back 10~15 minutes before the event starts, because for some events the commanders will do a walkthrough. If you must afk and you are performing a designated role in the event please let your party and the commander / coordinator know via an in-game whisper or TeamSpeak message, with an indication of when you will be back.

PSDH Membership Handbook / Guild Ranks and Purge
« on: February 17, 2015, 07:05:05 PM »
Guild Ranks and Purge
General information about each guild rank and what happens during the (bi-)monthly guild purge.

PSDH Guild Ranks
The following guild ranks are available in PSDH that you need to be aware of as a member:
  • Leader - Head of the guild
  • Coordinator - These are the PSDH Coordinators. If you have any issues with a member or commander, you can contact a coordinator to sort things out
  • Commander - These are the Raid Commanders. If you have any general questions, you can contact a commander
  • Dragon Hunter - Rank for active members
  • Frog Hunter - Rank for inactive members
  • Prospect - First rank for new members before they’re verified on TeamSpeak

Guild Rep Check Policy
As described in the PSDH Etiquette, all members should represent PSDH during official PSDH events. Every one or two months we will change the rank of all members to “Frog Hunter”. To maintain an active status in PSDH, you will have to attend at least one raid per month whilst representing PSDH. Every raid you attend you should try to represent PSDH, for two reasons:
  • Even though PSDH is not a regular guild, we still need influence for upgrades, buffs, banners, etc.
Since PSDH is organising these raids we would like our name to be out there for recognition. When players join the map and see a bunch of PSDH tags, we want them to know that they are on a fun and organised server. They might then wish to join us which grows the community!
  • During PSDH raids the coordinators and commanders will check who are representing PSDH and attending the raid and will swap their rank from "Frog Hunter" to "Dragon Hunter" if needed. Raid time is from when we enter one of the event channels on TeamSpeak (e.g. Tequatl, TT-Wurm, Guild Missions, etc.) till we leave the channel.
If you did attend a raid while representing and your status did not get changed please contact one of the coordinators or commanders on TeamSpeak to help you out.  Make sure to include which raid you were attending and which commanders were leading the raid. If you feel your status was set back to "Frog Hunter" in error, please do the same.

Before the next purge phase (every one or two months), all members who have the "Prospect" or "Frog Hunter" rank will be removed from the guild. Anyone who got removed from the guild is free to resubmit an application to rejoin PSDH.

"Dragon Hunter" rank, what does it mean?
The "Dragon Hunter" rank is used to see which members are active in PSDH. You only have to join one raid whilst representing PSDH after each purge phase to have your rank set back to "Dragon Hunter". This is done to ensure PSDH only contains active members.

How do I get the "Dragon Hunter" rank?
To have your rank changed to "Dragon Hunter" is pretty simple:
  • Represent PSDH during official raids
  • Be in the related raid channel on TeamSpeak
During raids coordinators and commanders will check the guild roster and promote everyone who fulfils these two requirements.

If after a raid your rank was not changed, please contact one of the commanders or coordinators on TeamSpeak and give them information about the raid you joined and which commanders were organizing the event. They will gladly help you out.

What if I cannot represent PSDH because of my 100% rep guild?
If you cannot represent PSDH then, depending on the numbers, we will either implement a unique rank for these members or during each purge phase you will be required to send an in-game mail to a commander or coordinator.

Why has my rank been changed to "Frog Hunter"!
When a new purge phase starts all members with the "Dragon Hunter" rank will be set back to the "Frog Hunter" rank.

What happens during the Purge?
The purge phase is a monthly/bimonthly event in which guild maintenance is done to clean up any members who are deemed inactive in PSDH.
  • One week before the purge all guild invites are put on hold
  • The day the purge starts:
    • All pending guild invites are removed
    • All members with ranks "Prospect" or "Frog Hunter" are removed from the guild
    • All members with the rank "Dragon Hunter" are set to "Frog Hunter"
If you were removed from the guild during a purge, you may always send a new guild application to rejoin PSDH.

PSDH and You!

How do I become a PSDH member?
Easy! Just fill in the application form on our website (link) and once your request has been processed you will receive a guild invite and an in-game welcome mail.

By applying for PSDH we automatically assume you have read and agree with the PSDH Etiquette.

When will my application be processed?
Normally we aim to process guild applications within a few hours (max. 2 days), with exception of when a purge is coming up, then it can take up to one week. If you have not received a guild invite after one week, you will have to re-submit your application.

What are the minimum requirements for joining PSDH?
See the "Minimum Requirements" section in the PSDH Etiquette.

What do I get for joining PSDH?
  • Fun and laughter
  • Friendly and helpful community to hang-out with
  • Organised events/raids (including crappy loot from big chests)
