The year is coming to a close, it is cold outside, Mariah Carey has been released upon the world again and Wintersday has returned to Guild Wars. Christmas time is upon us!
This means soon the PSDH normal schedule will be down for a bit, whilst we all visit our loved ones and eat way too much food.. Before we go off to do all that, we have a traditional PSDH Wintersday night. Stormwolf has saved up precursors that are clogging up the guild bank, so in true Christmas spirit we are organizing an event night where you have a chance to win them.

We will start off with a princess doll fighting contest. Princess doll tonics will be provided.
After that we test Storms latest race course to see who of you has the best control over their mounts
Of course we will also do an Advent Calendar quiz, for those not familiar with it, be sure to be on Teamspeak. Groups will be 3-4 members and awesome team names are rewarded! Make sure at least one of the group members is able to speak on Teamspeak. Each question/task has a prize assigned to it for the team to win. If the question is not answered correctly, the square stays active for another group to pick.

Summer has officially ended, leaves are starting to change colour and the season for warm sweaters is upon us. That means Halloween is coming! Soon Mad King Thorn will be among us again, bringing of course his usual friends and shenanigans. This means it is also time for us to throw a Halloween party! Hereby we welcome you to the PSDH Seasonal Scary Spooky Strange Sacrificial (just kidding, or are we?) Sit-in.
The evening starts at 19:00(UK)/20:00(EU) on 31st October 2022 with some good old fashioned costume brawl. Last person standing wins (brawl items will be provided to keep it fair, no executioners axes allowed).
We will then read out any scary stories and you can vote for the winner!
After that we have hidden some people around Lion’s Arch, can you find them? We will give out hints, whoever finds all of them first is the winner of great shinies!
Then it is time to put your sailing hats on and jump in your skiffs for a boat race. Sail around the guild hall as fast as you can for glory and gold!
Later on we will test your knowledge in our weird and wondrous Halloween quiz of everything weird, wondrous, mythical and outright scary. Bring your knowledge of all things gross and weird. You can win some nice prizes with your team (teams will be formed on the evening itself). We trust you will not use Google and rely on your mind to answer the questions.
As is the tradition the afterparty will consist of some rounds of farming the labyrinth for Trick-or-Treat bags.

Scary Short Story Competition Over the years you have gotten very creative with terrifying and killing our commanders and leaders in your stories over the past Halloweens. We do applaud this and would like to see if you can maybe top last year's winner?
The PSDH Halloween Scary Short Story Competition (PSDHHSSSC) guidelines are very simple so please make sure you follow them before submitting: you may submit one scary short story of 400 words maximum (but can be shorter of course). - submit the story to Nova via Discord (or the website in a personal message if you don’t use Discord) on or before the deadline 17:00(UK)/18:00(EU) 31st October 2022 - all entries must be original work from the author themselves - include your GW2 account name (Example.1234) so that we can reward you if you win! - the story is suitable for all ages (PG13)

Things to bring: - United Legions Waystations - Banners, Spirits of Nature, anything that can ress - Three commanders (2 support, 1 main) - Charge up your Offensive and Defensive buffs with Jade batteries
Escort 3 lanes
West -> Captain Fa - Escort Fa and kill mobs - Reclaim the outpost from the Void. - Use remote charges to clear rubble/shields. - Plant mutiple waystations - Champion Saltspray (optional EMP for CC)
Mid -> Caithe - Escort Caithe and kill mobs - Champion Saltspray (optional EMP for CC)
East -> Navan - Escort Navan and kill mobs - Protect the Siege Turtle hatchery - Reclaim the outpost from the Void. - Use remote charges to clear rubble/shields. - Plant mutiple waystations. - Champion Saltspray (optional EMP for CC)
Three camps secure (escort done) - Void will break out in 4 areas (east/west), split up and kill - Stay near the reclaimed output - After 4 areas are done a 5th area will break out - Central area, use waypoint to get there fast -After the 5th camp is done we have to charge crystals. Kill mobs to gain energy (they have a timer!) and fill the corresponding crystal. Options: Branded, Destroyer, Mordrem, Risen, Icebrood
Take zipline, glide on updrafts to get to the top of the Temple. Optional: Wait for airship waypoint to become active
Soo-Won boss fight Reminders before start: - Set personal waypoint using Jade Bot on platform (can be used once) - When we get green circles some of you will be thrown off the platform and will have to make your way back. Use jump (space) to collect memories, each memory resets space and you can directly jump again. Keep doing this till you are back on the platform and can reclaim your body with 3. (note: dead npcs might whisper you) - At 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% the boss phases. - At 80% we get 1 ring of green circles. Make sure there is at least 1 person per circle. Use memories to get back quickly. If you are not teleported kill mobs and use the crystals to hide behind when Soo-Won attacks. - At 60% we kill mobs, use spear (special action key on Soo-Won and then split on to 2 platforms to kill a boss. - At 40% we get a lot of green circles. Make sure there is at least 1 person per circle. Use memories to get back quickly. If you are not teleported kill mobs and use the crystals to hide behind when Soo-Won attacks. - At 20% we kill mobs, use spear (special action key on Soo-Won and then split on to 3 platforms to kill a boss. - After 20% Soo-Won gains extra power and kills a lot faster. Don’t be dps greedy and die, dodge everything. Also bring battle standards, spirit of nature etc. to help with ressing. - If we get a Tail appear, quickly go to it and kill it. Stop dps at 10%, it will die from condi damage. The next one might be a breakbar and we want to break it quickly. If the Tail appears a few % before a phase (80/60/40/20), ignore it and dps to phase.
Boss attacks (all RNG):
Bubbles The tail spawns smaller AoE that, if you get caught, capture you in a bubble that floats up. The bubble needs to be damaged to escape. Either by spamming 1 or by other players.
Water spout Water spout will form on the platform doing damage. Avoid them.
Face Smash + wave AoE with curly edges. Dodge AoE to avoid the Face Smash. Wait to run back in, first jump the wave that follows a few seconds later.
Tidal Wave Big AoE over the platform, brings out a huge wave. Dodge or block.
Hungry half island smash AoE takes over half the platform, get to the other side fast.
Swipe Half-circular AoE starting where Soo-Wong is. Get out or prepare to dodge.
Soon we will be surrounded by clouds of food smells, scents of pine, steeming hot chocolate and non stop christmas music. But before we leave 2021 behind and hope for a better year we will end this one with a great party.

Afterwards we have time for Freezy strike, Tixx Infinarium and Toypocalypse to complete our wintery night of fun.

Mad King Thorn has descended onto Tyria again to start off the Spooky season. Most of us have visited Steve and Bob already and met their new friends Bernie and Hal. Time for us to organise another Halloween party! Hereby we welcome you to the PSDH Harrowing Hideously Horrible Haunted Halloween Happening!! As usual you can win some nice shinies during the evening.
The evening starts at 19:30(UK)/20:30(EU) on 27th October 2021 in the PSDH guild hall with a costume contest. Show us your best Halloween costume (outfits not allowed), the best 3 receive a nice reward. Following the costume contest the entries for the Scary Short Story (see below) will be read by one of the commanders. All attendees may cast their vote for the scariest one.
After reading the scary stories we will test your knowledge of everything weird, wondrous, mythical and outright scary. As every year we take Easter off for a break and some quality time. But of course we will do one of our very special guild event The PSDH Easter Eggstravaganza.
On Wednesday the 7th of April at 19:30 UK/20:30 EU we will be doing several events in the guild hall including - An Easter themed quiz - A scavenge hunt - ??
On this funfilled evening you can win several nice shinies .. we will announce later what they are exactly

Christmas time is already all around us, music everywhere, lights shining at night and although we are mostly locked down, we will have some coronaproof festivities with the PSDH Wonderful Wintersday Party on December 23rd!

It has been a scary year, but the scariest time is yet to come, the monsters will be among us as Halloween is about to be here. So let's get cozy inside our homes and join a safe* online event!
Soon it is time for our Halloween party; PSDH Grand Ghoulish Grisly Gruesome Guild Gathering
Of course this year we have got some fun stuff lined up for you again, with the chances of winning nice prizes. The day will feature some PSDH Halloween classics like; The Scary Short Story Competition and a visit to Steve and Bob. And of course some of you will be murdered….
Since Halloween is on a Saturday we will run it during the afternoon slot. The afternoon events start at 12:30(UK)/13:30(EU) on 31st October 2020.
This year we will start off with a skimmer race, part of which will go under water. It will be doable without that skill, but we advise to get the mastery before the event (it’s not a long achievement run). Try your best at Storm's latest diabolical creation and a chance of winning Carcharias, precursor to the legendary spear Kamohoali'i Kotaki.
Secondly Shiroiki will read out the stories from the Scary Short Story Competition. PSDH members will then vote on which story they liked best! The winner will be awarded with a Mini Awakened Abomination (~230g).
As a third we will have to find out who among us is the murderer, do it quickly before you are the next victim! Or maybe deceive everyone, because you are the murderer…. Survivors will be awarded Halloween goodies.... and a mop to clean up the blood.
After we cleaned up the mess from the murders, we will then find out who has the best knowledge of all things gruesome in our Horror movie quiz. Team up with your guildies and find out who has the most gory knowledge.
As is tradition we will end the events with a visit to Steve and Bob in the lunatic’s labyrinth for a Halloween trick or treat bag farm.

We have therefore decided to slightly change the event from normal and also make use of some game content. This means Strike Missions, Tixx and Toypocalypse.

We ask for your gifts to have a value of at least 5g. It's not all about the monetary value of the presents, of course, but we'd like everyone to feel they can take part regardless of how rich they are in game. If you want to give something more expensive, of course that is allowed.

It is autumn time, that means leaves are falling, it is getting colder outside and the undead are rising from their graves.
It also means it is time for our annual PSDH Halloween party; PSDH Magnificant Murderous Mob Mayhem Massacre. Of course we did our best again to sort out a fun evening with some PSDH classics like; The Scary Short Story Competition, Darkward Says and a visit to Steve and Bob. But we will also have some new murderous things thought up for you lot. No PSDH Halloween party is complete without a mysterious murder.

So over the past few months I've had several people asking if we do raids. As you all know, the answer is, no we don't organise raids as a guild.
But it has occured to me that with all the different people asking these questions, you have enough for 1 or 2 raid groups. That's when I decided I will organise a few hours of raid training. For one to get you guys a feel and idea of what would be required to start a raid group and hopefully get some people the first boss kill (depending on learning curve on those nights though, don't expect miracles ). Secondly it would be great if, after we've done these training sessions and you guys are more familiar, you would continue, say once a week, with a raid group.
So who can apply? Anyone!! Don't worry about ascended gear for the training sessions, exotic is good enough.
What do we need? A level 80 character in exotic gear. We will have to see what people have so we can figure out a compostion that works. Also I want to stress that even though since PoF came out it's easier to do good deeeeeps, a lot of the fight is about learning mechanics and using the right skills. So don't feel discouraged if it goes shit at the start. That is normal for a training group . Last but not least, bring a cheery attitude. Everyone in training group has to learn, some will be further on in the learning process then others. The goal is to have room for all to improve and learn.
What's in it for me if I join? You learn some raid mechanics and get to know other people that would like to be in a raidgroup.
I'am a more experienced raid player, but I'd love to help out, can I come? Great!!! All help is very welcome. I am not going to pretend I am a top raider or know all classes by heart, I will be also relying on websites like Snow Crows. Be aware though that I will prioritise the less experienced raiders first if we have a lot of signups, since it are training sessions after all.
When is this happening? Wednesday evening december 26th Friday evening december 28th Friday evening january 4th (Starting between 19:00/20:00 GMT and 20:00/21:00 EU, will announce final time later).
Do I have to be available for all sessions? No, if you can attend just one that is fine.
