Events / Secret Santa 2018

Hello lovely PSDH community,

Wintersday is almost upon us and as is tradition we will run Secret Santa again!! An awesome chance to give and receive pretty shiny packages.

So what does your heart desire? Did you miss an old festival reward and never got around to buying it on the tp or do you need that last pesky item for a collection? Do you like to turn into a huge snowball at guild missions but were never able? Or are you simply saving for your next legendary? If you can’t think of anything in particular, just give Santa an idea of your likings and something will be gifted!

How Does It Work?

You simply sign up (at latest 19th December 2018 at 23:59 GMT) by replying on this thread or by sending Nova an email ingame (Persephone.5384).

Please include the following information:
Your guild wars 2 account name (the one with the numbers at the end).
What your ideal gift would be (keep in mind you might not get your heart’s desire if you ask for something ridiculously expensive).

After the closing date you'll be told who your match is and what they've wished for. You will then have until 1st January to send them their gift! If you wish to remain anonymous you can send the gift over to Santa’s helpers, with a message if you like, and the gift will be passed along whilst keeping your identity a secret

We recommend that you aim for your gifts to have a value of at least 5g. It's not all about the monetary value of the presents, of course, but we'd like everyone to feel they can take part regardless of how much they play and also retain a certain minimum worth. You are naturally welcome to exceed this.

If it so happens that you don't receive your gift, there will be provision for this so don't worry; if things don't work out with your Santa you will still get some shinies, as long as you sent yours.

Helloooooo Guildies!

The days are getting shorter, darkness is closing in…. YAY it’s almost Halloween again! Time to pay our yearly visit to Steve and Bob in the labyrinth and do all kinds of spooky stuff!

Of course, as usual, we have planned a special Halloween night to celebrate this spookiest day of days. On a spooky night like Halloween, we never can stop ourselves and have some murder happen in the Guild Hall. This year we are going to mix it up a bit. One of you will be the murderer!!! TUN TUN TUN … We will explain later how this game will work but hopefully, you are now all very excited

The evening starts at 19:30(UK)/20:30(NL) on 31st October 2018 with a game of Darkwards Musical Chairs. Every round your Glorious Leader will remove a chair. Who will be seated last and win his favor? (and shinies ofc). After this small game the entries for the Scary Short Story (see below) will be read and then you may vote for the scariest one.

After the story contest the Guild Hall will become a dangerous place, with murderers lurking. When we've dealt with them it's almost time for Steve and Bob. But before we go to the labyrinth we will have a Guild Hall mount race, all mounts are allowed. Choose wisely.

As is the tradition the night will be closed by farming the labyrinth for Halloween goodies.

Start time: 19:30(UK)/20:30(NL) - 31st October 2018
Please make sure you are in the Guildhall before the event starts.
As for all our events, there will be a special channel available on Teamspeak.

Scary Short Story Competition
Over the years you have gotten very creative with terrifying and killing our commanders and leaders in your stories over the past Halloweens. We do applaud this and would like to see if you can maybe top last years winner?

The PSDH Halloween Scary Short Story Competition (PSDHHSSSC) guidelines are very simple so please make sure you follow them before submitting:
- you may submit one scary short story of 400 words maximum
- involves PSDH commanders/leaders (for extra points)
- submit the story to Nova via Discord (or the website in a personal message if you don’t use Discord) on or before the deadline 17:00(UK)/18:00(EU) 31st October 2018
all entries must be original work from the author themselves
- include your GW2 account name (Example.1234) so that we can reward you if you win!
- the story is suitable for all ages (PG13)

We will read out the short stories during the PSDH Halloween event on 31st October 2018 and will be voted on by the PSDH members in attendance at the event. (You don't have to be there as a writer, it's more fun though!)

Remember the story deadline is 31st October 2018 at 17:00(UK)/18:00(EU)! Good luck!

Events / Eurovision drinkfestival 2018

Hey everyone,

As some of you might remember from previous years, a few of us like to watch Eurovision together and play drinking games.

If you don't drink alcohol you are welcome to join, perhaps you could try coffee or redbull for a simular effect?

The rules are simple, we watch Eurovision Songfestival. Any time a cliché comes up it is time to take a sip!

An example of some rules, you drink when they:
•   Gaze into each others eyes — drain glass if they kiss
•   Flick their hair – drain glass if they are bald
•   Wink at camera
•   Sing in language other than English or native tongue (ie. Ukrainian sings Hasta La Vista)
•   Drop to their knees
•   Wear a hat – drain glass if wearing horns
•   Make a peace sign
•   Show décolletage – drain glass if wearing a codpiece
•   Have a moustache – drain glass if female with moustache
•   Visable chesthair
•   etc.

Hey guys,

So we have a new winter schedule up. Apologies that we did not run it past you guys, but here you find a poll. Please let us know what you like by filling in the poll, mutiple answers are possible so just tick anything you like. Also if you have anything to add to your vote you can reply below.

Some explanations about the new schedule. So on wednesday we will run our TT first and then guild spawn a Tequatl. This because the server spawn is very early, especially for those in the UTC timezone. This will cost us a bit of gold, but works out a lot better. Saturday will be HoT day, 3 weeks of TD/VB/AB followed by one week of DS. Then we have some PoF + missions on Sunday and some more PoF on monday.

We have dropped Serpents Ire for now, although it is a challenging event to do, the lag is horrible, the lfg is getting slow and the loot is not good either. If a lot of people still want it for the achievement, we can look at planning a special night for it. Hopefully Anet will upgrade the event.

Tell us what you like, what you don't like and we will see if we can fit your feedback into a tweek to the schedule if needed.

Heeeeeeeeeey everyone,

Easter is coming soon and since a lot of us will be away we won’t have normal events. However we will organise an event to do something extra special on Monday 17 April.

We will be running Gems Gold lottery, winners will be picked during the PSDH Easter event on the 17th of April. You don’t have to be present to win though. A ticket costs 2 gold, maximum 5 tickets (10 gold) per person. You have until 12 April to buy tickets.

To buy a ticket you send an email to Gem (Marithia Redwood - gemgenie.4560) saying that you want to participate in the Lottery and include your gold and accountname and number.

Prizes - First 100 Gold, Second 50 Gold, Third 25 Gold, Fourth 10 Gold, Fifth 5 Gold

We start events at 19:00 UK / 20:00 EU and gather about half an hour before that in the Guild Hall. Make sure to also join on Teamspeak if you wish to participate in the events.

Sooooooooooooo .. what will this evening be about you say?

You can participate in a lifesize boardgame and a jigsaw hunt, we will keep a secret for now what they are about. Let’s just say there are loads of shinies to win and fun to be had

Hellooo PSDH!

To end another eventful year we are going to do some special Wintersday events on the 21st of December

We have thought up a bundle of nice events to enjoy as a guild. And of course you can win some SHINIES

As you may have already seen, Secret Santa has come back for another year. Please sign up for that on this thread http://psdh.eu/index.php?topic=1736.msg5610;topicseen#new

Also Gem is organising a GOLD lottery. Tickets are 2 gold 5 tickets maximum. Mail your money to Gem (gemgenie.4560) and add your accountname + that it is for the lottery. On the 21st itself the winner will be drawn, you do not have to be present to win though.

On the evening of the 21st we will be going for:
- Princess Punchup
- Christmas Music/Film Quiz
- The Grinch who stole Christmas
- Belchers Bluff Tournament

To win the SHINIES you just have be in the Guild Hall at 20:00 [GMT]/21:00[CET] and participate in the events. All the things you need like Belchers Bluff kits and other stuff will be provided.

Hello everyone,

So Halloween is coming soon and it's time for some fun events. We have planned some things and you can win *SHINIES*

We start events at 19:00 UK / 20:00 EU and gather about half an hour before that in the guild hall.

So what is happening? Well I am not going to spoil everything, but these two you might want to prepare for.

Scary story contest
- Scary story max 400 words
- Bonus points if it involves PSDH commanders
- Submit story to Ardi or Nova before the day of the event

Costume contest
- Halloween Fashion wars!

Besides this, we will do some more fun Halloween related activities where of course you have a chance at more *SHINIES*

We will end this night of mayhem and madness by running the Halloween Labyrinth naked.

Sooo .. over the last few weeks I had a lot of people asking me how to join a Raid team. Unfortunatly I do not have the time myself to start and guide a new team. But I wanted to give YOU a topic to respond too. So this topic is for all people that want to join a Raid team, doesn't matter if you have done one before or not. Making a team is about learning how to work together to get past the mechanics and get an awesome kill. So if you are interested to put some time and work into creating a new succesful team, please sign up here!

For convience it would be handy if you specify the following:

- Accountname
- Classes that you can bring and level of confidence on that class in normal pve 1-10 (10 being most confident)
- How much experience you have in raids (none at all / a little / quite a bit / loads)

If enough people sign up you can then start looking for a day (preferably not during psdh scheduled events

)

So don't be shy .. give it a go .. and hopefully after some weeks get a first kill on the Vale Guardian

Hey..

So the Guild Hall has some cool extra stuff you want to check out daily.

Between guild bank and Market proprietor you find Sigurlina Jonsdottir [Guild Trader] where you can buy items for guild commendation. For example today I bought Recipe Ascended Dagger for 1 guild commendation.

Behind the Scribe station there are 2 nodes you can harvest every day.

In the tavern there is now a barkeeper where you can get a 3% exp bonus (will get higher) every day.

The Guild Portal (close to the scout) can port you to Traders Forum in LA for free.
