I fear I don't know any literature to recommend, I will have to point you one of our British, American, Canadian or Australian guildies. If you're not sure who to ask, I'll gladly introduce you to some of them.

If you ever need help with any game mode, quest or event we are hosting, feel free to ask me (almost) anything.

Hello everyone!

It is almost Wintersday again, and as every year we will run Secret Santa again. This is a great opportunity to give and receive pretty shiny packages.

So what is it that you did not get around to get this year, does your heart have any desires? Perhaps you need that last item for a collection or do you fancy turning into Tyria’s finest animals on the push of a button? Maybe you want some help in looking your shiniest for the holidays? If you can’t think of anything specific, just give Santa a general idea of your preferences and something will be gifted to you!

So how does this work?
You simply sign up (at latest 18th December 2018 at 23:59 GMT) by replying on this thread or by sending Nova an email ingame (Persephone.5384) with:

Note: you might not get your heart’s desire if you ask for something ridiculously expensive.

After the closing date you'll be told who your match is and what they've wished for. You will then have until 1st January to send them their gift! If you wish to remain anonymous you can send the gift over to Nova, with a message if you like, and the gift will be passed along whilst keeping your identity a secret

We ask for your gifts to have a value of at least 5g. It's not all about the monetary value of the presents, of course, but we'd like everyone to feel they can take part regardless of how rich they are in game. If you want to give something more expensive, of course that is allowed.

If it so happens that you don't receive your gift, there will be provision for this so don't worry; if things don't work out with your Santa you will still get some shinies, as long as you sent yours.

Caldnir's Story:
Days are darkening and growing colder. Halloween has come. The seams between worlds are weakening and Tyria is about to have a royal visitor from the Mad Realm.
It’s the Mad King Thorn, back again in Lion’s Arch

“Oh, I remember you lot.”
“Piken Square Dragon… Punters, yes, hah hah!”
“Congratulations on slaying Kralkatorrik by the way. Even the Mad Realm felt that. There were creatures phasing in and out of existence, unstable portals popping on and off, you know how it goes, I’m sure.”
“Even I felt unstable. Can you imagine?”
“Still, the portals made me realise something. Why limit myself to Kryta, when there are countless other kingdoms I have yet to grace with my presence? So I jumped into a portal, and I must say I found some very peculiar places.”
“Like United Kingdom? Please, everyone knows kingdoms aren’t supposed to unite. They wage war against one another! Though they didn’t seem that united, so perhaps hope is not yet lost.”
“And who names their kingdom Netherlands? I guess Underworld was already taken.”
“Anyway, I left some presents here and there that should be opening at midnight, which is right… about… NOW!”

Thorien's Story:
Our tale begins as Halloween tales do,
On a stormy night where a foul wind blew.
When an orange moon cast an eerie glow,
On the land of Tyria far, far below.

A sea of mist spread across the land,
From Mordrem wood to crystal desert sand,
And everywhere a rising tide of fear,
But the cause unknown - it just wasn’t clear!

“We need a team” the people cried
“Of fearless folk, all on our side”
“A band of heroes, a motley crew”
“And a naked Norn with a great hair-do”.

The call went out both far and wide,
And forth they came to form a tribe,
With weapons magic, sharp, and blunter,
Each one a PS Dragon Hunter.

With a “gooooood day” call dear Nova led,
As close behind the cursed crew tread,
Until Storm cried out with a halting stop
“Oooo look - another precursor drop!”

They wandered long and lost all count
Of just how long they’d been on their mount.
The battles long – fighting toward their end,
Each guildie finding comfort and becoming friend.

Til at last they came to the source of evil,
Their life-force drained, their resistance feeble,
And one by one they met their maker,
Their death was sealed, no loss was greater!

And so you ask on this Halloween,
What was their doom? What could be so mean?
Was it dragon? Hydra? That sealed their fate…..
T’was the epic fail – the A-NET build template!!!

Hello guildies,

As you know we recently had a guild meet about the new schedule and the guild in general. During the night I (Nova) have taken minutes, so without further ado, here they are:

- We should pay Cori 20x more for leading the raid group. (Agreed 20x0=0)

- Moarrr Dhuum.

- The summer weekend event schedule clashes with lunchtime.

- When Anet brings out a bonus week - like they did on world boss train - change the schedule to do that (for some of the days). You can combine that with for instance the Shadow Behemoth portal achievement.

- We are doing Shatterer on Thursday and after that we can see if anyone wants to do a fractal or dungeon, or some story achievements. Note: Actively use guild chat.

- We have 2 members who expressed that they want to try commanding for PSDH. Guild Leaders will contact them about this.

- Dark posed the question: How can we better engage new guildies? The following things were suggested: Group up for strike missions, dungeons and fractals. The thursday is the designated day for that. But of course we can also ask on other days in guild chat if anyone is up for something. Guild Leaders will see how they can make this more engaging.
Also Raids was suggested. Several of us (leaders and members) noted that raids are hard for us to organise in a way that everyone can participate. This is why we do not organise a group ourselves. We did however organise raid training over last years Wintersday break. The people remaining from that group are raiding on fridays, led by Cori. Jari and Nova some weeks still join that group to helpout if they are low on numbers. Cori notes that if people are interested to join the raid on friday night, they are free to contact him. He will then see if there are spots available to join in that week. 

-It would be nice if the bot in discord would also send out a weekly schedule, for instance on monday afternoon. Dark will look into the options available for that.

- It would be nice if we had a LFG channel on discord (perhaps linked to website too?) where people can post in advance that they want to do dungeons/fractals/strike mission/raids/achievs on a later moment. Other guildies can then sign up to join them. Dark will look into available options.

- Can the bot send out automatic patch notes after an update? Yes it can, and it now does! Dark adjusted it during the meet.

- The bot in discord could have a seperate channel. Dark states that the lobby is ment for gw2 and guild related stuff, so it is sort of a separate channel. He will keep an eye out though after all adjustments are done. If it gets too much he will see about a separate channel.

- It is possible to have the next guild meet in the weekend? We will take it into consideration when we plan for the next meet.


After that we talked about raids, the change in build templates and Halloween amongst other things 

To do Guild Leaders:
- Look into the several above mentioned changes for the discord bot.
- Talk to the commander volunteers.
- Calculate Cori's payrise into expenses.

A special thanks to those of you that were attending the guild meet on Teamspeak and also to those that were not able to be there, but shared their ideas with us.
