Hey everyone! I'm happy to tell you that our guild Secret Santa will be returning this year :)

How Does It Work?

You simply sign up by 20th December in this thread.

Please include the following information:
Your account name (the one with the numbers at the end).
What your ideal gift would be - Missed an old festival reward and never got around to buying it on the tp? Need one last item for a collection? Do you like... quaggan tonics? Coo! If nothing is taking your fancy, explain a bit what your interests are in-game to give your Santa ideas.

After the closing date you'll be told who your match is; then you can check back here to see what they've wished for and you have until 1st January to send them their gift! If you wish to remain anonymous you can send the gift over to me, with a message if you like, and I will pass it along whilst keeping your identity a secret ;)

I will recommend that you aim for your gifts to have a value of at least 5g. It's not all about the monetary value of the presents, of course, but we'd like everyone to feel they can take part regardless of how much they play and also retain a certain minimum worth. You are naturally welcome to exceed this.

If it so happens that you don't receive your gift, there will be provision for this so don't worry; if things don't work out with your Santa you will still get some shinies, as long as you sent yours.

Here's those important dates again...

Sign up by 20th December
Send gifts out by 1st January

Merry Wintersday, and happy gifting :3

This month, rather than a 'first' prize along with lower tiers, I went for each prize being more equal - if you guys have any opinions as to whether a grander, higher-tier of prize is more interesting, or if you prefer this way, do let me know!

Seren - Endless Mystery Quaggan Tonic
Singh Mary - 20 ecto
Simon - Entropy exotic hammer
Zia - Mini Pocket Raptor

Working on something a bit different for later this month :)

As you can no doubt deduce, entries are now closed :) I'll be drawing the winners when I have some free time at the weekend, and prizes should be sent out on Monday at the latest! <3

Last bump! Entries close on Thursday (at reset between the Thursday and Friday, to be exact ^^) so don't leave it too long if you want in, folks :D

Yeah, as long as it's voluntary I think it's a sweet idea ^^

my birthday is in December which means i dont get a birthday due to Christmas  :'(

That crap extends right through to twelfth night, yo - by my birthday everyone has alcohol-induced amnesia and can't possibly remember anything is happening ;)

Back once again  ;D

So as I mentioned in last month's thread, it was awesome how many of you threw your proverbial hats in for this and it should definitely be able to be a regular thing, perhaps with some seasonal variations. For this month I'd ideally just like to increase the number of winners so more people can have shiny things :3 Aiming for 5 prizes this time! The rules will also be the same for now; one entry per person and sent before reset at the end of the month to be eligible. I'll also try and respond to each entry to confirm it's been received, since a few of you wondered about this. Bear in mind the messaging limit though and don't worry if I don't get back to you immediately ^^

If you'd like to enter, just message me, with 1 gold attached - or you can deposit it in the guild bank and just point out that you've done this :) Closing date is the 30th June, after which the winners will be drawn and prizes sent out during the first weekend of July.

Last month's winners:
First Prize (Cavalier Staff Skin) - Merula
Second Prize (Midnight Fire dye) - Spykervleis
Third Prize (Wurm Finisher + Mini Teq) - Ardi

Thanks very much to everyone who entered! It was really encouraging to see so many get involved, not to mention it meant we could have a nice prize pool ^.^

Winners were as follows:

Third Prize (Wurm Finisher + Mini Teq) - Ardi
Second Prize (Midnight Fire dye) - Spykervleis
First Prize (Cavalier Staff Skin) - Merula

Since this seemed popular, I'll be running another this month :) rules will be the same and hopefully can have ~5 winners this time; I'll make a new thread anyway. Thanks again all!

Edit: gonna close this, add all comments and/or inquiries here:

Raids / Re: Raid Teams
« on: May 26, 2016, 03:48:10 am »
It should probably be pointed out, as I think was done in the other thread, that the group that was raiding when these posts were originally made doesn't meet anymore. Obviously plenty of people raid and it's fine to use these to find each other but it's no longer any kind of official sign-up.

Now that's out of the way:

Ehhh, we'd been discussing this in game the other day, the reason I'm sticking with Carrion is because of how much damage I'm getting out of it. I use the Superior Rune of the Necromancer with it, I know Viper and Sinister are good options as well, I just don't want to go tweaking around a build that has worked so well for me thus far. "If it isn't broke, don't fix it." haha. I really do appreciate the advice, and if I happen upon any Viper/Sinister Exotics as drops I'll keep hold and switch them out and try it as a comparison and see how I like it, but having put gold into one build it would be a bit of a blow to change it up now, when what I have doesn't do badly at all anyways. So I'll keep it in mind and try it out as the chance arises, but unless it makes a really huge difference I'll probably stick with this build. If that makes sense?

You didn't really give an indication of being interested in raiding with your gear, at least during the bits of the discussion I saw :D So this gets tricky. It's already been outlined why viper's/sinister is superior so I won't bang on about that. But you really do need to bring the best you can bring to a raid. For anything else, yes, run whatever you please and enjoy it!

I have to agree with red. Since necro is the most tanky class in the game it would a waste to use carrion.

There's an argument to be made for building vitality on a power Reaper - you can take some/all valkyrie gear and still crit cap because of traits (exact setup potentially dependent on party buffs - if anyone's interested in this I'm happy to explain in detail in game ^^) and get your extra shroud duration. However this is moot in this discussion for a couple of reasons, namely that there is very little reason to take power gear on a necro to raids when the condi build is so damn great, and that staying in shroud for extended periods of time isn't really a part of the rotation so there's no need for it.

Hello once again PSDH'ers o/

I am pleased to bring you this month's raffle, which I hope will be an ongoing occurrence :D It's as easy as you might expect: you buy a ticket with gold, and you will be entered to win shiny things. Prizes are TBA (you're welcome to suggest things, but no promises ;) ) and the draw will be made at the end of the month, hopefully in conjunction with another fun event for you all which is in the works. Coming soonTM!

If you'd like to enter, just message me, with 1 gold attached - or you can deposit it in the guild bank and just point out that you've done this :) Closing date is the 31st May naturally.

Agreed that a bit of time in between is needed - I didn't join you as I needed to grab lunch. But it needn't be a long break and especially if you start with a good chunk of events people can filter in gradually :) sounded like Ardi was a super speedy CF commander!

General Chat / PvP Guild Missions
« on: March 31, 2016, 04:14:47 pm »
Hey everyone!

As the title suggests, I was wondering if there are a few other people out there who might be interested in teaming up each week to do the mission for PvP. It'd be nice to earn ourselves some extra rewards and have fun in the process. Skill level shouldn't be important, and we can do these in unranked so you don't need to have played regularly or even at all, and we can keep it separate from league play if that's a concern. No raging needed ;) The exact missions themselves vary but this week's for example should be pretty easy - to kill one Stronghold lord in 30 minutes. The only real requirement is we need a total of 3 people for the team!
So if you'd like to give this a go, please post here or feel free to give me a yell in game (Anoussja/flamboroughpilot.5602). Would be cool to queue up with some PSDH'ers ^.^

Events / Re: Upcoming Events - Hide & Seek plus Lottery!
« on: March 10, 2016, 12:26:42 pm »
Thanks everyone for the entries so far :D also to those who volunteered to hide - we should be set for numbers now.

To clear up a couple of points: lottery draw will indeed now be on the 13th and I've edited accordingly. The MotD listed them both for this day so I didn't want anyone who'd only seen that to be left out :) more time to enter!

can we have that in the top post as atm its confuseing given no char is listed to mail anything to under the Linseed lottery.

Edit: Ah sorry I see a mention of it is there now though an exact name would be helpfull.

Apologies if anyone was confused here - the info was a couple of lines up in the hide & seek section and it didn't really occur to me that the post might be read non-linearly :p Shiroiki, did you want your donation to stand as an entry?

Linseed gambled and hideyness volunteered!

You may call it gambling; I call it donating with benefits!
